Reading Response: Week 11-2

Reading Response: Week 11-2
This week’s assigned readings in Stearing the Craft were about point of view. I enjoyed reading the different examples they had for each type of point of view. I think in my writing I alternate between first person and limited third person, and have a lot of trouble writing a story that is completely in one person’s point of view. I’m not exactly sure why I do that but I think mostly it’s because I feel a story in just one person’s point of view is difficult to believe. Since it is something that I am struggling with, it is also something I need to work on because there are some stories that are written in one person’s point of view that are very believable.
I found the tips on changing point of view in a story very helpful because I never focused too much on the cues when I change from one point to another. I understand that while it makes perfect sense to me, it is important that it makes sense to the reader as well. I think this is something that can be achieved with revisions of the initial rough drafts.
