*I work on campus and this family that came to the office a few days ago was just hilarious. I tried to write a sort of a story about their time in the office. I couldn’t come up with a proper ending, so it’s just a random free-write for now. Also my blog is acting very weird today, I can't un-bold the writing for some reason. Anyway, here is what I have for now.
Here he goes again, Martha thought. Dad just does not understand. I mean how can I live in the dorms, and share a bathroom with thirty other girls. I don’t want some crazy drunk girl throwing up while I’m washing my face. Ew, there’s no way that’s going to happen. Of course these people aren’t helping. What is wrong with this guy, he’s kind of cute, but still, why is he trying to convince dad that living in a dorm is a good idea. I’m the one coming here and it should be my choice. Well, my parents are paying for it, but still it’s just unheard of to share with so many people. I think it should be banned, it seems so uncivilized.
Okay, here comes a girl, maybe at least she’ll take my side. I guess I’m wrong because she is rambling on about what a great experience she had in the dorms. What is up with these people, am I the only sane person here?
“That’s it Dad, I’ve had enough, I’m out of here, come find me when you come to your senses,” I cried and stomped off.
Two hours later, Martha still sits in a bench outside frothing mad. Her lips were quivering and her eyes were filled with rage.
Martha’s parents sit inside the office. Dad blaming mum for the way Martha’s turned out. Dad is adamant that he will not budge his decision.
The clock is ticking, and people are getting about, getting their work done. But Martha and her parents sit in different spheres, waiting for the other to make a move.
